Monza, Trident in the top 10 also in the second race

Trident wrapped up a positive Monza weekend in the eighth round of the 2023 Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine. The team, led by Maurizio Salvadori, made its way into the top-10 in race 2, increasing its score in the points standings.

After finishing sixth in race 1 yesterday, Owen Tangavelou finished in P14 overall in qualifying, but fought back during the race sealing the 8th place.

Roman Bilinski had a great qualifying performance as he was third in group A and fifth overall. The Pole delivered a positive early sting and even held P2 in the opening stages. A red flag due to a crash in the final few minutes, forced race control to stop the action for good, and Bilinski was in P7. Unfortunately, a 5-second penalty forced him outside of the points zone

Nikhil Bohra barely missed the podium with a positive P4 in race 1, and had an equally good start in race 2, making his way up to P6. The Singaporean then was slowed down by a few battles, but still got into the points zone

Owen Tangavelou:

“In qualifying we had the potential to get a good result, but we could have done more. I had a good start to the race and managed the situation in the opening laps, with some riders cutting the chicane and not giving up the position. Nonetheless, I defended myself and fought until the red flag. We confirmed that we had a good pace, and I was very happy with the car. I was hoping to get more, but we still scored points in both races."

Roman Bilinski:

“Overall it was a positive day, with a third place in Group B in qualifying. Unfortunately, I had a contact in the early stages, which put me in a difficult situation and I then lost four positions. We could have been on the podium today, but luck wasn't on our side. Short break before Zandvoort, we continue to train and give our best."

Nikhil Bohra:

“Unfortunately today didn't go as planned. We had the right potential, but I made some mistakes, and I take full responsibility. The car was really fast in qualifying, and we were ready for the race. I did a good job especially in the first half of the race, when I was sixth, after which I did some things wrong. I have to apologize to the whole team because we could have taken further points this weekend. I can't wait for the last two rounds."
