THE SEASON STARTS AGAIN ON THE DUNES OF THE ZANDVOORT TRACK

The summer break is over. The FIA Formula 2 season gets back underway on the Dutch Grand Prix venue

The FIA Formula 2 Championship will line up for the 11th round of the 2023 season at Zandvoort. The fast-paced Dutch venue, located between the sand dunes close to the North Sea, is one of the most challenging on the schedule. It is a truly unique destination with short straights, frequent elevation changes and highly technical corners including two high-banked ones.

After the previous event on the longest track of the season, the series is moving to the second shortest, which features few passing opportunities and makes qualifying even more pivotal. The Zandvoort track is 4.259-kilometer long and has 14 corners, 10 to the right and 4 to the left.

Trident Motorsport drivers Roman Staněk and Clément Novalak will aim to score valuable points. The Czech racer is coming from his 9th place in the Feature Race at Spa-Francorchamps. The preparation work has been highly focused and detailed. Now it will be up to Zandvoort to highlight its success.

Giacomo Ricci, Team Manager: "Zandvoort is a very technical track that highlights the qualities of the drivers. It is no coincidence that it has been home to the Formula 3 Masters for many years. Unfortunately, its layout is twisty with only a few straights, which does not facilitate overtaking and makes the starting positions crucial. For this reason, it will be key for our drivers to find good chemistry with their cars quickly and have a good qualifying session."

The FIA Formula 2 Championship will start at 10:05 AM on Friday for the 45-minute free practice session. Qualifying is scheduled for the same day at 14:05. The Sprint Race will be on Saturday at 13:15, while the Feature Race, which will conclude the weekend, will start on Sunday at 10 AM. The action will be broadcasted live by the Sky Sports F1 network.
