Trident Motorsport announces driver line-up for Jerez test Less than two weeks since the end of the season, Trident Motorsport will be back into action for a busy three-day test session at Jerez de la Frontera. The FIA Formula 3 cars will be on-track at the Spanish venue from Wednesday, September 21st to Friday, September 23rd.

After coming close to winning the driver championship and finishing as a runner-up for the team title at Monza, the Milan-based operation is already busy with preparation for the 2023 championship. Trident Motorsport will field a brand-new line-up at Jerez featuring Brazilian Gabriel Bortoleto, Italian Leonardo Fornaroli, and Dane Oliver Goethe. All three drivers are 17 years old, born in 2004.

Goethe entered four FIA Formula 3 Championship events in 2022, claiming eighth and a fourth place at Budapest and Spa-Francorchamps respectively. Piacenza native Fornaroli is standing ninth in the FRECA championship, while Bortoleto is currently sixth in the same category, with one win and three podiums to his credit with two rounds left in the season.

Giacomo Ricci, Team Manager, Trident Motorsport:

"With the postseason test in Jerez, we are beginning the preparation work for the 2023 championship. We will field three drivers who, with the exception of Goethe, have no experience in the series. We will have to provide them with our maximum support, so they quickly familiarise themselves with F3 racing. Fornaroli is coming from our program. After a season in FRECA with our team, he will now be on track for the first time with a Formula 3 car in an official event. We noticed Goethe when he got into action in the series at Budapest and Spa-Francorchamps, where he made a great impression. Like Fornaroli, Bortoleto comes from the FRECA championship where he showed promising potential. There is a lot of work to be done to get ourselves in shape for the start of the new season, which has in fact already begun!"
