Trident Motorsport claims double top-10 finish at home racetrack

The FIA Formula 2 Championship started its 12th and penultimate round of the year at the historic Italian track of Monza today, with the FIA Formula 2 Championship going underway for its Sprint Race.
The qualifying session provided mixed results for the team's drivers. Roman Staněk was ninth and Clément Novalak, the winner of the previous round at Zandvoort, was P20. While the Czech driver managed to find a decent lap with a clear track, the Frenchman was caught in traffic. At the start of the race, Novalak gained two positions, moving up to P18, while Staněk held on to P9.
The Sprint Race featured several contacts and a safety-car intervention. While the race was neutralized, Novalak was called back to the pit lane for a fresh set of tires. At the restart, which occurred on lap 14, Staněk stayed inside the top ten and finished in the points zone, earning a positive eighth place.
Novalak also gained some spots in the final part of the race and finished in P10. The Feature Race, which will conclude the FIA Formula 2 Championship weekend in Monza, is scheduled for tomorrow at 09:55 local time.
Giacomo Ricci, Team Manager, Sprint Race quote
“We gladly welcome today’s results, with Staněk ending up in the points zone at the end of a well-executed race with a solid pace. Novalak also put up a remarkable recovery as he rounded out the top-10, fighting back after making a pit-stop. Starting far back on the grid prevented him from finishing in the points zone like his teammate".
