Trident will participate in the Macau Formula 3 Grand Prix
Trident Motorsport will compete in the famous Asian street course with a new lineup of great experience and high quality, featuring Richard Verschoor, Roman Staněk, and Ugo Ugochukwu.
After wrapping up the 2023 FIA Formula 3 season by winning the FIA Formula 3 Championship with Gabriel Bortoleto, and completing the three post-season test sessions ahead of 2024, Trident Motorsport is now fully committed to one of the world’s most iconic and challenging races, the Macau Formula 3 Grand Prix.
For the 2024 event, the Italian squad will field a completely new roster featuring high quality and experience. Competing in a race that was previously won by Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher and David Coulthard, Trident Motorsport will line up with Richard Verschoor, Roman Staněk, and Ugo Ugochukwu.
The 22-year-old Dutchman, who won the race at the Guia track in 2019, will make a grand return under the Trident Motorsport banner, which he represented in the 2022 FIA Formula 2 Championship with one win and four podiums. Verschoor will try to repeat himself for another win, a feature that was previously achieved by drivers like Edoardo Mortara, Felix Rosenqvist, and Dan Ticktum.
Staněk is also a familiar face for the team. The 19-year-old Czech driver entered the FIA Formula 3 Championship and the FIA Formula 2 Championship with Trident, in 2021 and 2022, respectively. He secured impressive results, including one win and four podiums in F3.
Ugochukwu will make his Macau debut, driving a Trident Motorsport car for the first time. The 16-year-old American, who is part of the McLaren Driver Development program, entered the Italian Formula 4 Championship, finishing second with three wins and 13 podiums.
The Trident Motorsport line-up is looking extremely competitive and determined, as the team looks forward to keeping its name high in one of the most difficult and fascinating races in motor racing.
